The Executive Chef role at Aramark is a pivotal management position dedicated to culinary excellence and team leadership. This position oversees chef managers and hourly culinary staff to develop and execute innovative culinary solutions tailored to meet customer needs and tastes. The Executive Chef ensures culinary operations align with production, presentation, and service standards, applying expert culinary techniques to food preparation and overseeing the final presentation and service of all food items. They play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of Aramark's standard food offerings, prioritizing quality, safety, and compliance with company policies.
In this role, the Executive Chef is responsible for ensuring that culinary production connects effectively with Aramark's Executional Framework. Leadership is a key component, with responsibilities including training and managing kitchen staff to use best practice food production techniques, coaching to foster a shared understanding of goals, and recognizing employee achievements. The Executive Chef plans and conducts team meetings, manages staff records and performance data, and interacts directly with guests daily to build rapport and ensure satisfaction.
Financial and operational management is also essential, requiring the Executive Chef to focus on margin improvement, understand and utilize performance metrics, data, ordering, and inventory trends, and ensure delivery of culinary products in line with the daily menu. The position requires full compliance with Operational Excellence fundamentals, including waste management, menu and recipe standards, labor standards, and supplier authorization.
Additionally, the Executive Chef must ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operated and that all culinary operations adhere to Aramark's SAFE food and Quality Assurance standards, as well as occupational and environmental safety policies. The role demands a thorough understanding of the food supply chain and procurement processes, ensuring only authorized suppliers are used to maintain the highest quality and safety standards.

- Requires at least 4 years of culinary experience
- At least 2 years in a management role preferred
- Requires a culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to simplify the agenda for the team
- Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
- This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems
- Requires oral, reading, and written communication skills
