Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) is a premier academic medical center located in New Haven, CT. It is a 1,541-bed teaching hospital and the primary teaching site for the Yale School of Medicine and Yale School of Nursing. The Executive Chef 3 at Yale New Haven Hospital (York Street Campus) is a critical leadership role within Sodexo's Patient Services team. This position is responsible for managing high-volume patient dining operations, delivering approximately 900 patient meals daily through three tray lines across two kitchens. The hospital's bedside ordering model and timed delivery system require meticulous coordination, real-time execution, and hands-on leadership to ensure meals are delivered on time and meet quality standards. The Executive Chef 3 leads a diverse culinary team, overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure meal accuracy, safety, and presentation that align with both Sodexo and Yale New Haven Hospital's standards. This role is essential in maintaining food safety compliance, managing purchasing and inventory to control costs, and fostering a positive work environment through effective coaching, training, and scheduling. Additionally, the Executive Chef collaborates closely with Patient Services leadership, Clinical Nutrition, and Diet Office to accommodate therapeutic diets, allergies, and dietary restrictions. Success in this role is defined by consistent on-time delivery and meal accuracy, strong audit results related to temperature logs and sanitation, engaged and well-trained teams with clear ownership across kitchen stations, stable food cost management with reduced waste, and positive communication and partnerships with clinical and patient services departments.
