The Environmental Services Technician position at Pipeline Health plays a crucial role within the hospital's support services team. Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the technician ensures that all patient care and non-patient care areas are meticulously cleaned and maintained to promote infection control and patient safety. This role involves performing high and low dusting, cleaning restrooms and fixtures, terminal cleaning of isolation and non-isolation rooms after patient discharge, and disinfecting hospital beds. The technician also assists nursing staff with moving beds, pulling trash, mopping floors, and cleaning windows and blinds, demonstrating an essential partnership in maintaining a sanitary hospital environment.
The Environmental Services Technician actively implements the scientifically proven seven-step cleaning procedures, providing thorough cleaning that meets regulatory standards and supports the hospital's mission. The role demands responsiveness to all calls concerning assigned areas and proactive communication using the AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) framework to ensure clear, courteous, and professional interaction with patients, families, coworkers, and hospital staff. This position not only supports patient comfort but also contributes significantly to infection prevention and the overall patient care experience.
Additional responsibilities include adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality, reporting equipment or environmental issues promptly for repair, and participating in mandatory monthly training to stay updated on best practices and compliance requirements.  - two years of hospital environmental services experience preferred
 - ability to follow instructions
