The Events Production Assistant role at the Academy Museum is a vital part-time, regular position that reports directly to the Senior Manager of Events. This role is primarily focused on supporting the Events and Talent Relations team by managing the operational logistics of event planning and execution across multiple locations, including the Academy Museum, Academy Headquarters, Pickford, and Fairbanks centers. This position offers an hourly wage of $20.00 with an emphasis on providing excellent service in a dynamic environment. The assistant will serve as a critical liaison between internal operations such as Facilities, Security, Theater Operations, and Visitor Experience as well as clients and vendors.
The position involves assisting with both internal and client-oriented events by providing onsite support before, during, and after events. The role requires managing event setups, coordinating strike activities, and supporting film programs, screenings, and panels. The Events Production Assistant will handle logistical tasks such as responding to inquiries, scheduling walkthroughs, tracking RSVP lists, managing guest check-ins, and coordinating parking and valet services. This role requires a strong customer service mindset, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced setting. The Events Production Assistant must be flexible to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends as scheduled. This position is union-represented and necessitates full COVID-19 vaccination, including any required booster shots. - High school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion
- 1+ years of experience in special events production catering or hospitality
- Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation
- Availability to work early mornings late evenings and weekends as scheduled
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Ability to move and transport objects weighing up to 30 lbs
- Full vaccination against COVID-19 including boosters unless medically or religiously exempt
