The Events Coordinator role at the Raleigh Convention Center is a dynamic and critical position within the Events Department. The role involves comprehensive support for event planning and execution, focusing on logistics coordination and client service. As a key point of contact, the Events Coordinator liaises between clients and various internal teams, including setup, electrical, and audio/visual production staff, ensuring seamless event operations. This position requires preparation and management of event logistics schedules, ongoing adjustments during events, and the preparation of cost estimates and service orders. The coordinator also conducts client meetings and facility tours, providing personalized support and detailed event planning guidance. Administrative duties form an essential part of the role, contributing to efficient event management and compliance with operational standards. Additionally, the Events Coordinator occasionally leads and oversees other staff, ensuring work assignments are completed effectively and to high standards. This role demands strong organizational skills, excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to perform under pressure with poise and confidence. The position requires flexibility, as work hours may extend beyond the usual Monday to Friday schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on event demands.   • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
  • 3 to 5 years experience in audio, video, lighting, electrics, stage carpentry, rigging, events coordination or related field or equivalent combination of training and/or experience
  • Experience using Momentus (Ungerboeck) event booking software preferred
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure with patience and poise
