The Phoenix Convention Center is currently looking for a committed and professional individual to join their team as an Event Services Lead. This role is essential for the smooth operation of events held at the facility. The Event Services Lead is responsible for directing and working alongside an assigned shift of Event Service Workers, including part-time and temporary staff who handle various manual tasks such as the setup and teardown of events and custodial duties. This position requires frequent public interaction, emphasizing the importance of excellent communication and customer service skills.
The Event Services Lead plays a supervisory role by assigning tasks, directing work in progress, and inspecting completed work to ensure high standards are met. The work is performed under the guidance of an Event Services Supervisor, allowing for a structured and supportive working environment. This position offers a pay range of $22.61 to $24.93 per hour with a hiring range up to $33.41 per hour, reflecting the importance and responsibility of the role. The role may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the scheduling needs of various events.

Ideal candidates for this role will have at least two years of experience in convention center operations, theater, or custodial methods. Candidates must be forklift certified at the time of hire or obtain certification within six months and be capable of moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Supervisory experience and familiarity with event setup in public venues are highly preferred, as is experience working with contracted temporary labor. Candidates with experience interacting with clients and the public, using computerized work order and event management systems, and familiarity with building and facility care practices will have an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience operating motorized ride-on and cleaning equipment are also desirable.
