The Hospitality Service Technician role at Convene is a vital position within the Operations team, reporting directly to the Service Manager or Supervisor. Also known as an Event Server in some contexts, the incumbent plays a key role in delivering excellent, anticipatory hospitality and conference services to clients and event participants. This position requires passion, excellent interpersonal communication, and a drive to uphold Convene's core values of Genuine, Relentless, Integrity, and Teamwork. The Hospitality Service Technician is responsible for ensuring clients feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and comfortable throughout their time at Convene venues.
This role involves close collaboration with various departments including Culinary, Production, and Technology teams to exceed client expectations continuously. The technician supports events through setting up, maintaining, and breaking down food and beverage stations, managing conference and refresh rooms, and providing world-class service aligned with Convene's brand standards. They must anticipate client needs, accommodate special requests, and provide knowledgeable information about menus and event spaces to create a seamless experience. Meticulous attention is given to sanitation, food handling, organization, and maintaining professional appearance and behavior at all times.
Ideal candidates are highly motivated, capable of multitasking, and experienced in service roles, preferably with server and coffee preparation experience. The position often requires flexibility in scheduling, including longer hours and the ability to physically manage various tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for long periods. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage of $29.00, with eligibility for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan. Compensation reflects national data and may vary by location and individual qualifications.
