Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) is a reputable educational institution committed to providing comprehensive community-centric education and services. Located primarily on its main campus, KCKCC proudly serves the Kansas City region with a focus on accessibility and inclusivity. The college offers a diverse range of academic programs along with community events that foster learning, engagement, and growth. As a part-time staff hiring opportunity, KCKCC seeks to enhance its Events and Scheduling department to ensure its events run seamlessly and meet the high standards expected by students, staff, and community members alike. The position of Event Representative plays a vital role within the KCKCC Events and Scheduling department. This non-exempt, part-time role is hourly-paid at $17.00 and involves working varied hours, including evenings and weekends, to support non-college sponsored events hosted on campus or any designated KCKCC location. As an Event Representative, the successful candidate will act as a host and primary point of contact during events. Responsibilities include upholding the rules, standards, and practices defined by the department, interacting professionally with clients and guests, and ensuring events comply with rental agreements and college policies. This role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers, including community members. The position also involves physical activities such as standing, walking, and occasionally lifting items up to 50 pounds to assist with event setups. Due to the dynamic nature of event schedules, the Event Representative must have a flexible availability between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM CT to meet operational demands. In this POOL position, applications are accepted continuously, reflecting the college's ongoing need for dependable event coverage. The Event Representative will not supervise other positions but will report directly to the Events and Scheduling Coordinator I. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking part-time work within a vibrant educational institution, contributing meaningfully to the success of community events and non-college programs. The role is ideal for those with a background or interest in customer service or the hospitality sector, looking to utilize and grow their skills in a supportive team environment.
