The Event Manager role at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center is a vital position within the event operations team responsible for managing all aspects of event execution. This full-time management position is designed for a proactive and organized professional who will act as a meeting planning advocate and liaison between clients and various operational departments. The Event Manager is charged with ensuring the seamless delivery of hotel products and services according to detailed conference group plans, thereby creating positive and memorable meeting experiences for clients and attendees alike. Responsibilities include not only the day-to-day coordination and planning but also the development and implementation of exit strategies for each event. The role involves continuous client communication to advise on event status, coordinate changes, and resolve any issues promptly. Utilizing various software programs, the manager generates key documents such as banquet event orders, pass on reports, change logs, and post-convention reports, which are critical to smooth event operation and client satisfaction. Additionally, the Event Manager contributes significantly to the operational success by attending planning visits, tie-down meetings, and other internal discussions concerning security, parking, and production. They play an essential role in identifying potential issues in meeting setups such as lighting, temperature control, audiovisual equipment, and room arrangements, proactively resolving them to meet or exceed client expectations.
