The coordinator will liaise extensively with city departments and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with local rules, regulations, and procedures, particularly concerning public safety, mobility, and permitting related to street functions, curb lane usage, and parade routes. \n\nAdditional responsibilities include preparing written work plans, correspondence, and evaluations for each event, maintaining thorough records and reports using computer systems, and representing the Mayor's Office of Special Events at on-site events and relevant civic, cultural, and business meetings. Driving on city business is an essential function of the position and requires a valid Texas Driver's License. The role demands physical activity, including lifting items up to 40 pounds and accommodating outdoor work conditions, which may involve varied weather and time spent walking or standing on rough surfaces. Moreover, the Event Coordinator will contribute to the department's social media efforts, enhancing community engagement and event visibility.
