The Event Coordinator role at Oak View Group is an exciting opportunity to join this dynamic organization, working directly under the supervision of the Director of Events. This position involves coordinating all aspects of assigned events from initial planning through execution and post-event settlement, ensuring smooth operations and client satisfaction. Events range from basketball games and concerts to large-scale tradeshows and diverse venue functions. The coordinator will also play a critical role in developing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and programs, supporting continuous improvement in event management practices.
This role offers an hourly wage between $20.00 and $22.50, with the potential for full-time employment benefits. Situated in the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, a premier 12,500-seat arena with 34 luxury suites and 476 club seats, this venue is a hub of activity and versatility. With over 54,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space and an arena-view restaurant, the Spotlight Grille, the facility demands precise coordination and exceptional service. This position requires handling event logistics, designing set-up diagrams using AutoCAD, liaising with operations, food and beverage, and catering teams, and maintaining effective communication across departments. - Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university with relevant coursework
- minimum one year experience in public assembly facility including supervisory responsibility
- excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- ability to work flexible schedule including long days, late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- strong organizational and time management skills
- ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
