This position is for an Event Coordinator and Customer Experience team member at a Michaels store located in Inglewood, California. The role is designed to deliver outstanding event planning, particularly focusing on facilitating children’s birthday parties and other creative craft events within the store environment. The coordinator is responsible for creating a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests by meticulously planning, coordinating, and facilitating multiple concurrent events. This involves interacting with clients of all ages from children to seniors, to foster an atmosphere filled with creativity and enjoyment.
The Event Coordinator will oversee various facets of event execution including party activities such as craft project demonstrations, face painting, and providing additional party amenities like goody bags and balloons. Communication with clients and the store team is essential to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Administrative tasks are also part of this role, requiring handling emails, phone communication, and paperwork related to events. Flexibility to adjust plans based on client feedback and preparation of backup strategies for unforeseen circumstances are crucial.
Beyond event management, the role extends to delivering excellent customer service by assisting customers in shopping, locating products, and offering solutions. Fast, friendly checkout experiences are a core component of customer engagement. The position also involves educating customers about Michaels’ rewards programs and private label credit cards, assisting with omni-channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS), and supporting merchandise recovery and stock optimization activities.
Additionally, responsibilities include supporting store operational functions such as unloading trucks, stocking, planogram implementation, maintaining store cleanliness, and adhering to compliance and safety standards. Team members are expected to uphold company policies, promote a positive store environment, and act as role models in teamwork and customer interaction.
