The City is currently seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join their team as Custodians for a swing shift schedule. The Custodian role is integral to ensuring that City facilities remain safe, clean, and welcoming for city staff, visitors, and the general public. In this role, you will perform a variety of janitorial duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing floors, cleaning carpets, washing windows, and sanitizing kitchen, lunchroom, and lavatory facilities. Moreover, you will be responsible for emptying trash, maintaining cleaning supplies, and operating a range of custodial equipment. The position also involves performing limited building maintenance, minor repairs, graffiti removal, and basic groundskeeping such as mowing, weeding, trimming, pressure washing, and cleaning pools. You will also undertake vehicle and equipment cleaning responsibilities.

- Six months work experience demonstrating courteous customer service, significant public interaction, and working effectively with co-workers and in work teams
- Cleaning or minor maintenance and upkeep of work area is desirable
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must pass a physical assessment and drug test
- Valid Oregon driver’s license or the ability to obtain by date of hire
- Must pass driving records check and maintain a driving record that meets City standards
- Ability to perform physical tasks required including constant standing, walking, lifting up to 35 pounds frequently, occasional lifting up to 60 pounds, bending, twisting, and overhead reaching
- Willingness to work assigned shifts including 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., one weekend day
