The role of Cook II at Sycuan is an integral position within the culinary team, responsible for preparing both specialty cuisine and standard menu items that meet the highest quality and consistency standards. Reporting to the designated venue Sous Chef, this role demands precision and adherence to approved recipes, cooking methods, and ingredients established by the Food & Beverage and Culinary Management teams. The Cook II must ensure that all food preparation meets stringent health codes and casino standards, maintaining an immaculate workspace and demonstrating a team-oriented and accommodating attitude toward guests and colleagues alike. As a Cook II, the individual plays a crucial part in upholding Sycuan's reputation for excellence in food quality and service. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, proficiency in basic cooking methods, and knowledge of both standard and specialty culinary equipment are essential. Proficient knife skills and a strong understanding of food safety processes, including the FIFO method (First In, First Out) for food rotation, are vital to this role. The Cook II should be comfortable reading food order tickets and be willing to undertake other duties as assigned to support the smooth and efficient operation of the culinary department.
