Established in 1972, this Michelin-recognized restaurant brand has upheld a long-standing tradition of delivering first-class dining experiences across the globe through its dedication to excellence in food quality, service, and ambiance. Din Tai Fung remains a family-owned business passed down through generations, embodying authentic flavors and warm hospitality that have made it synonymous with quality and consistency in the international culinary scene. Today, the brand boasts more than 165 locations across 13 countries, with 16 locations in the United States alone. Din Tai Fung offers an upscale yet welcoming cultural dining environment suited for any occasion, appealing to a broad range of customers. The current opportunity is for a Dumpling Trainee position based out of the Westfield Southcenter shopping mall location in Tukwila, Washington. This role plays a pivotal part in creating the signature dumplings that have become synonymous with the Din Tai Fung name. As a Dumpling Trainee, you will undergo a comprehensive hands-on training program designed to equip you with the specialized skills and knowledge required for dumpling preparation. This includes dough preparation, measuring, cutting, rolling skins, stuffing, folding, arranging dumplings in steamers, and ensuring hygienic, high-quality food production. You will work within an open show kitchen setting, which emphasizes a clean, professional appearance and precise food preparation. This immersive kitchen environment aims to foster both skill development and a deep appreciation for the artisanal craft behind each dumpling. The role encourages driven, friendly, and energetic individuals who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented settings to apply, even those without previous dumpling experience, as prior experience working with dough or pastry can provide useful skills but is not mandatory. Upon successful completion of the training program, employees are promoted to the Dumpling Prep role, accompanied by a competitive hourly wage increase. The company also emphasizes career growth from within, providing numerous opportunities for employees to advance their skills and roles over time. Joining Din Tai Fung means becoming part of a vibrant and inclusive company that values diversity and equal opportunity.
