The role of a Line Maintenance Supervisor within the Integrated Operations Division is a critical position at American Airlines. This role involves overseeing aircraft maintenance technicians and ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant return of aircraft to service. Supervisors serve as frontline leaders, managing workloads, coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders, and upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance and operational excellence. The supervisor will guide and direct terminal and hangar aircraft maintenance teams through crew chiefs and leads, ensuring that organizational policies, plans, procedures, and resources are effectively implemented. A significant aspect of this role involves maintaining clear communication channels with airport management, FAA, TSA, and other government agencies, as well as vendors and suppliers, to coordinate maintenance efforts and resolve any challenges proactively. In addition to technical oversight, the supervisor will be instrumental in identifying training and development needs for maintenance staff, providing coaching and support to foster a skilled and motivated workforce. They will also work collaboratively with union leadership and other supervisors to meet company objectives and ensure a productive and harmonious work environment.   • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • 3 to 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
  • Must pass FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA)
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
