The role of Director of Event Services at The Westin Pittsburgh is a full-time management position with a pay range of $80,000 to $106,000 annually, including bonus eligibility and relocation assistance. This leadership role is critical in managing the Event Services Department, which coordinates and executes events that meet high standards of service quality. The Director of Event Services acts as the pivotal liaison between Banquets/Catering, Event Technology, Event Planning, Sales, and customers, ensuring seamless communication and consistency across all property events.
The position involves overseeing event service staff, adhering to the Red Coat Program standards, and driving guest and employee satisfaction while contributing to the financial success of the department. This role demands a strategic, detail-oriented leader who not only executes events based on established standard operating procedures for catering, event services, and food and beverage but also identifies opportunities for upselling and event enhancements.
Responsibilities include collaborating with the Director of Catering Operations, managing complex schedules, and resolving potential conflicts, coordinating capital resource projects, and maintaining strong vendor relations to improve service offerings and increase revenue. The Director ensures all event-related operations consistently meet or exceed guest expectations by fostering an atmosphere of excellence in service delivery. They provide clear leadership by communicating departmental goals, focusing the team on critical success factors, and integrating business initiatives to align with brand standards and regional strategies.
Moreover, this role involves active participation in human resource activities, including collaborating with HR to comply with legal regulations, evaluating staffing requirements, and ensuring emergency procedures are well executed. The Director also reviews event operations annually to optimize service and operational efficiency. - 4 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
