The role being offered is that of a busser, a crucial support position within the food and beverage department of the hotel. The busser's primary responsibility is to clear and reset tables efficiently, aiding food servers while providing courteous, professional, and expedient service to guests. Working in a 24/7 hotel environment, the position requires flexibility in shift days, start times, and hours worked. The busser plays an essential part in maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the restaurant, ensuring it meets both hotel and health department standards. Key duties include quickly clearing dirty table settings, resetting all service ware per prescribed standards, maintaining stock at service stations, serving guests basic items like beverages and breads to commence their dining experience, and supporting the servers by delivering orders and pre-busing tables.
Additionally, the position involves transporting dirty tableware to dishwashing stations, performing general cleaning tasks with standard hotel cleaning products, folding napkins and rolling silverware to maintain adequate supplies throughout meal periods, adhering to all company policies and safety and security procedures, and responding promptly to guest requests and spill cleanup. The role requires compliance with safety standards, maintaining a neat and professional appearance and assisting other restaurant personnel as needed. Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette is necessary, along with the hold or pursuit of a current Food Handler Card. Physical demands include the ability to transport heavy loads on foot and use hand carts, as well as frequently standing, walking, bending, reaching, and other movements common in a busy dining environment.
