With a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement, Delta strives to deliver a superior travel experience for millions of passengers annually while maintaining operational excellence. Delta Air Lines' Operations & Customer Center (OCC) serves as the nerve center and heartbeat of its worldwide operations, functioning 24/7 to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient functioning of the airline’s global network. The OCC is responsible for both tactical and strategic decision-making related to operational disruptions across the system, coordinating with various teams to swiftly resolve issues and maintain service reliability. The center integrates cross-functional teams that work cohesively to address real-time challenges and strategize for long-term operational improvements. Delta Air Lines is currently seeking qualified co-op students for its OCC program, with availability required for a minimum of three alternating work terms during Spring 2026, Fall 2026, and Summer 2027. This co-op opportunity offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience in one of the most dynamic and critical environments in the airline industry. Each co-op will be assigned to one of several specialized teams within the OCC, where they will work alongside seasoned aviation professionals, leveraging data analysis and operational insights to solve complex business challenges. The OCC Co-Op program is designed to immerse students in key decision-making processes and operational responsibilities that impact the airline on a global scale. Co-ops will engage in projects that influence everything from fuel management to flight operations, innovation, customer experience, and strategic planning. This blend of practical exposure and professional mentorship equips participants with valuable skills for a future career in aviation, operations management, or related fields. Co-Op assignments include roles in the following teams: - Fuel Strategy: This team manages the airline’s $14 billion annual jet fuel consumption, focusing on sustainability policies, efficient fuel load calculations, aircraft routing improvements, and payload forecasting. Co-ops will contribute to initiatives that enhance communication and problem-solving across the organization. - Flight Control: Partnering with Certified Flight Dispatchers, the Flight Control team handles pre-flight planning, real-time monitoring of flights, and coordinated ground support. Co-ops will assist in ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in commercial flight operations through active participation in decision-making. - OCC Innovation & Technology: This team implements IT solutions that support various OCC functions, including Flight Control and Operations Management. Co-ops will apply technical skills such as SQL query development, user acceptance testing, and documentation to contribute to software and system improvements. - OCC Business Strategy: Focused on project management, employee engagement, emergency response planning, and safety compliance campaigns, this team plays a pivotal role in workforce empowerment and operational resilience. Co-ops will support multiple initiatives aimed at organizational development and safety. This co-op program provides a unique, intensive learning environment where students can apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges in a fast-paced setting.
