The Delicatessen Clerk position at Hy-Vee is a vital role within the Delicatessen department. This non-exempt position requires handling food safely, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service. As a Delicatessen Clerk, you will be responsible for running department registers, processing payments, and ensuring a positive company image through courteous and friendly interactions. Your duties include taking customer orders at the deli counter, assisting customers by locating products or handling heavy items, and supporting team efforts to maintain a pleasant work environment. Your attention to detail will contribute to product freshness by reviewing daily orders and appearance while following proper sanitation and hygiene protocols.

- Less than high school or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to physically perform medium work involving exertion up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly
- Visual acuity to see clearly at distances greater than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with or without correction, including color vision and depth perception
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
