The Cake Decorator role involves decorating, building, and icing custom cakes and other baked treats according to detailed order specifications. This position requires not only technical skills in cake assembly and decoration but also an artistic eye to ensure each product meets our quality and aesthetic standards. Responsibilities include careful handling and placement of finished cakes to maintain their structure during cooling, wrapping, and storage. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in various decorating techniques, knowledgeable about pricing and quality standards, and proficient in using decorating tools such as various knives. Maintaining a clean and organized work area in compliance with bakery, safety, and security procedures is essential. Moreover, the Cake Decorator must follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent technique and quality while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for equipment sanitation and hygiene. The role entails flexibility, as the individual will assist with other bakery duties and collaborate with different departments when needed. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with team members, management, customers, and suppliers. This position demands manual dexterity, a strong creative sense, the ability to distinguish colors, and mathematical skills to accurately follow recipes. The successful candidate should exhibit professional behavior, support colleagues and managers proactively, and demonstrate quick problem-solving abilities to maintain smooth operations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines while working independently are crucial.
