The role of Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) is critical within SBM Management as it directly impacts the company's ability to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments. Candidates are expected to grasp clear oral and written instructions, communicate job-related information effectively, and exercise sound judgment regarding work methods and decision making. Part of the role may involve training other custodial staff or demonstrating work processes to uphold the highest standards. This position plays an essential role in maintaining the physical environment of the properties managed by SBM. Responsibilities include a wide range of cleaning tasks such as floor care involving vacuuming and mopping, surface maintenance including dusting and sanitizing, waste removal, and light maintenance duties such as restocking supplies and replacing bulbs. Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment is vital in this role to maintain a secure work environment. Moreover, custodians serve a dual function in providing customer service, needing to interact professionally with both coworkers and customers, presenting a courteous demeanor and professional appearance. This is a full-time role offering competitive compensation, with a salary range of $19.00 to $20.00 per hour. Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, making this an excellent opportunity for those seeking a stable daytime schedule. • Reliable transportation
• Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read 2-3 syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
• Ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
• Basic math skills including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers, multiplying and dividing with 10s and 100s
• Knowledge of American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance, and measures such as cups, pints, quarts, gallons
• Valid driver’s license if driving own or company vehicle with proof of registration and insurance
• Bilingual is a plus, not required
