The Cook/Baker role at Loma Linda University Medical Center is vital to ensuring that food services meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and safety. This position involves preparing food items in accordance with the menu and production forecasts, maintaining consistency in recipes and food items produced. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six months’ food service experience demonstrating their cooking skills. A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory. Essential knowledge and skills include the ability to read, write, and speak English, understanding and following both written and oral instructions accurately, and recognizing colors and sounds necessary for task safety. The position demands the ability to operate equipment safely and work independently without constant supervision.
Loma Linda also emphasizes the importance of required certifications for this role. A Food Handler's Certification from San Bernardino County Public Health Department is required upon the hire date. For enhanced qualifications, SafeServ certification is preferred.
