As a Cook, you will be required to receive ingredients and supplies, review production schedules, assemble necessary supplies and equipment, and prepare different food items with attention to detail and food safety practices. The role also involves a variety of cooking methods, including slicing, grinding, chopping, and cooking meats and vegetables, as well as preparing and baking simple pastries and rolls. Beyond food preparation, the Cook plays a significant role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the work area, including cleaning utensils, grills, fryers, ovens, sinks, and other kitchen equipment. The role requires a keen eye for quality control, ensuring that all food items are properly labeled, rotated, and fresh, and that any spoiled or unattractive food is disposed of accordingly. Additionally, the Cook may cater special events, assist with day-to-day kitchen operations, and work collaboratively with other departments and staff members in a courteous and professional manner.
