The current position available within MCCCD is that of a Cook, a role pivotal to the daily operations of the district's food service department. This position is salaried on an hourly basis with compensation ranging from $19.17 to $21.34 per hour, dependent on experience. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with summer hours running Monday to Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, ensuring a consistent and balanced work-life environment. This is a 12-month assignment with a special funding provision projected to last until June 30, 2026, with the potential for renewal based on continued funding and institutional needs. The Cook will be entrusted with preparing and serving well-balanced, high-quality meals aligning with established recipes and stringent food safety protocols. This role demands excellent organizational skills to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. The incumbent will manage food inventories, coordinate timely meal preparations for daily cafeteria services as well as special catering events. • High school diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in an institutional kitchen or commercial food preparation establishment
• Current Maricopa County Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain one
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3 pm, with summer hours Monday through Thursday, 6 am to 4:30 pm
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• May require some evening and weekend hours
