The position of Cook at ASM Global’s Shreveport Convention Center and Municipal Auditorium is a part-time, non-exempt hourly role reporting directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef. This role is critical to the Food & Beverage Department and requires an individual who embodies professionalism, teamwork, and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. The Part-Time Cook will be responsible for preparing both hot and cold food items according to standardized recipes and event specifications. This involves working in a fast-paced environment that demands multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and adherence to strict health and safety standards as outlined by the Health Department and ServSafe regulations. The Cook will assist in various kitchen operations including inventory management, maintaining cleanliness, and following FIFO (first in, first out) practices for food rotation. They must also operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and knives safely and efficiently. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and long or irregular shifts based on event schedules. Reliable transportation is essential given the on-call nature of the scheduling. The successful candidate must also present themselves in proper uniform and grooming standards, and have a positive, client-service oriented attitude. • must be 18 years of age or older
• must have a High School Diploma or GED
• 3 plus years in a multi-purpose, high volume operation
• or a similar combination of education and experience
• ability to pass a background check and meet corporate minimum requirements
• ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts
• must be compliant with Health Codes
• NON-SLIP SHOES REQUIRED
• must have reliable transportation and be able to report to work as scheduled
