Reporting directly to the Area Director of Sales and Marketing, the Sales Manager will play a crucial role in driving revenue to surpass hotel topline goals by proactively soliciting across all business segments, with special emphasis on small business accounts and new business pipelines. This position requires a clear understanding of Business Transient pricing strategies and competitive market positioning, involving close collaboration with hotel General Managers and the Sales & Marketing leadership team. The Sales Manager is responsible for identifying new targets, re-engaging past leads, and leveraging Marriott's US Account Sales and Global Sales Organization teams to capture prioritized corporate accounts. Key responsibilities also include the negotiation of special corporate rates to foster sustained revenue growth year over year. The role demands a versatile, relationship-driven approach with active customer engagement through daily interaction, hosting hotel appreciation events, conducting site inspections, and attending community networking events. The Sales Manager must maintain detailed and up-to-date account information within company systems such as CI/TY SFA Web and EMPOWER to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with strategic goals. With an emphasis on teamwork, this role involves partnering with Operations teams and stakeholders to fully understand customer needs and market dynamics including competitor analysis, economic trends, and demand fluctuations. Additionally, the Sales Manager will manage lead generation programs with the help of Operations teams to identify new business opportunities, creatively utilize negotiation and sales techniques, and adapt daily priorities to meet varying workload demands. Participation in sales strategy meetings and application of company marketing initiatives to convert leads into revenue are also integral components of this role.
