This full-time, exempt hourly position is for a Cook reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Culinary and Retail Operations. Located on the main campus, this role offers an hourly rate of $24.00 and eligibility for benefits. The Cook is responsible for preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold foods during multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. The position demands accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to applicable federal, state, and corporate standards to ensure the highest quality of food service. The Cook operates under the supervision of culinary leadership, assisting with food preparation in line with recipes and health guidelines, and maintains clean, sanitized work stations and kitchen equipment. The role includes operating grill stations, handling customer orders, and participating actively in food safety training and hazard assessments. Key responsibilities include cooking to order, working at a la carte stations, and ensuring compliance with HACCP policies and safety guidelines. The Cook must also manage production records and inventory requisitions, ensuring supplies and equipment availability. This position requires physical stamina to work on one's feet for extended periods, lift and move foodstuffs and supplies, and adapt to flexible scheduling that sometimes includes nights, weekends, and holidays. The Cook contributes to the financial accountability of the culinary department by assisting with recording transactions promptly and accurately.
