Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS) is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to providing support and advocacy to individuals affected by domestic violence. With a mission rooted in the belief that everyone has the right to live free from fear, abuse, oppression, and violence, DVIS offers comprehensive services including shelter, advocacy, education, and community outreach to empower survivors and promote safety. This role is for a Cook who will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to residents at the 90-bed DVIS Shelter. The Cook plays a vital role in contributing to the wellbeing and comfort of residents by ensuring the availability of balanced and healthy food options. This position is part-time and requires dedication to the organization's values, including equity and inclusion. The Cook must be capable of working both independently and collaboratively, managing kitchen operations, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and assisting with inventory and budget monitoring. The role also involves supervising interns and volunteers within the kitchen department and maintaining accurate documentation concerning meal counts and nutritional components.   • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • minimum one year experience in kitchen work and food preparation
