The role of Food Preparation Team Member at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Santa Ana-Orange County Airport is a key position within the culinary operations of the property. This role involves preparing a diverse range of food items including salads, soups, sauces, meats, and vegetables in accordance with prescribed recipes and standards that ensure consistent quality and satisfaction for all guests. It requires precision and attention to detail while reading menus to estimate food needs and requisitioning ingredients appropriately from storage. The position calls for regulating oven and broiler temperatures, utilizing various kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders and slicers, and conducting quality tests by tasting, smelling, and temperature checks to maintain optimal food safety and quality. The Food Preparation Team Member also takes responsibility for carving meats, garnishing plates, handling produce preparation tasks, and maintaining strict adherence to health and safety guidelines set by federal and local authorities. Beyond cooking, this job includes assisting with food inventory control, waste management, and ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to high standards.                 - High school diploma or equivalent preferred
 - Six months prior food preparation experience preferred
 - Culinary degree or training desired
 - Basic knowledge of food preparation, professional cooking and knife handling skills
 - Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
 - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, recipes, short correspondence and memos
 - Valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
 - Must know all applicable health standards
