The role of Cook at Centro de la Familia is an essential position within their Head Start preschool program. This role focuses on preparing nutritious, delicious, and age-appropriate meals and snacks for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. The Cook will be responsible for ordering, preparing, serving, and documenting food while adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations, including USDA and CACFP standards. This position not only demands culinary skills but also requires a commitment to maintaining strict food safety and cleanliness standards in the kitchen environment. - High school diploma or GED
- minimum of one year of experience in food preparation
- knowledge of USDA/CACFP meal standards
- ability to read and write English
- physical ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- willingness to work in a team environment
- current certifications including USDA/CACFP, Food handlers, SERV Safe Manager, CPR and First Aid
