Located in Richmond, California, at 208 23rd Street, WestCare is currently seeking a full-time Food Service professional to join their residential program team. This role focuses on the preparation, storage, and supply management of food services critical to maintaining the health and satisfaction of residents. The Food Service position offers a competitive hourly wage of $25.00 and is essential in ensuring the facility complies with health and safety regulations while supporting the nutritional needs of the population served. The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of food preparation operations, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to California state health codes and relevant regulatory guidelines. Experience in quality food preparation for large groups or institutional settings is highly valued, along with a commitment to maintaining high sanitary standards and safe food handling practices. The individual will lead menu planning, food ordering, and must ensure meals meet approved menus and serve schedules. Additional duties include food inventory management, storage, and immediate reporting of any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards. This role requires a dedicated professional who can uphold WestCare's mission and vision through their daily actions, supporting the clinical and operational goals of the organization. Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset are important, as the Food Service Worker will also support other duties as assigned. The environment is primarily kitchen-based, with occasional outdoor activities, and requires thorough knowledge of food safety protocols including ServeSafe certification and compliance with state health codes. Certification requirements include ServeSafe certification, CPR, First Aid, and an annual Tuberculosis test, ensuring the safety and well-being of both staff and clients. Candidates must also be capable of successfully completing a criminal background check and maintaining all necessary licenses, including a valid driver’s license for potential use of WestCare-managed vehicles.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience in quality food preparation for large groups and/or institutional cooking and food service
  • ServeSafe Certification
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background screening
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare vehicle insurance
  • Ability to maintain criminal background investigation clearance
  • CPR Certification
