The current opening is for a full-time Cook to join the Avalon Care Center team. This role is essential in ensuring that residents receive delicious, nutritious, and diet-compliant meals every day. The Cook is responsible for preparing foods in accordance with prescribed resident diet specifications, adhering strictly to facility procedures, dietary guidelines, and sanitary regulations. Working under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager, the Cook plays a vital role in supporting the health and satisfaction of Avalon’s residents by maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen and meal service area. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic and dependable individual who enjoys cooking for others and values the importance of food in enhancing the lives of seniors and those needing special dietary care. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $24.78 and a full-time schedule with shifts on Friday and Saturday from 5:30 AM to 1:00 PM and on Sunday and Monday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. • High school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a Food Handler’s permit/ServSafe certification as per State requirements
• Must have the ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other associates
• Must pass criminal background investigation and reference inquiry
