We are currently seeking a part-time Cook to join our vibrant team. The position is scheduled every Friday and Saturday from 11am to 7pm, with an exciting opportunity to transition to full-time employment by taking on additional days as a dining room server. The role primarily involves preparing delicious, healthy meals that meet federal, state, and local food safety standards, as well as adhering to Benchmark's internal policies and procedures. Under the supervision of the Food Services Director, the Cook plays a vital role in ensuring that quality food service is consistently delivered to our residents. This role is perfect for those who have a passion for cooking and a desire to make a positive impact on individuals' lives through nutritious, well-prepared meals. The Cook must bring an energetic attitude to the kitchen, maintaining a safe and efficient cooking environment while collaborating closely with kitchen and dining staff. Responsibilities include operating kitchen equipment such as meat slicers, processors, ovens, grills, steamers, dishwashers, and warmer cabinets safely and effectively, as well as helping organize food production lines to ensure timely meal preparation. • High school diploma or equivalent
• Culinary arts training preferred
• 2 years of dietary experience
• Must have knowledge of dietary procedures, as well as related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to food service operations
• Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• This is primarily a standing position, may need to stand in one place for extended periods of time
