The role of Cook at California Fish Grill is an hourly, non-exempt position responsible for preparing and directing the preparation of food items according to established food production programs and procedures. This role requires strict compliance with sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. The incumbent will have a key responsibility in ensuring the appropriate use of kitchen facilities, supplies, and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud. Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager or Training General Manager, the Cook must carefully plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, ensuring that the quality, temperature, and appearance of food consistently meet company standards.
This position requires someone with a strong working knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, sanitation protocols, and quality guest service. The Cook will be tasked with preparing food following production procedures, ensuring the availability of supplies, setting steam tables, storing food safely, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The role also includes keeping accurate daily production records, completing temperature checks, and performing routine equipment maintenance reporting. Training and adherence to safety, confidentiality, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance are critical elements of this position.
