We are currently seeking a dependable, enthusiastic, and dedicated Cook to join our outstanding Culinary Services team at Southern Utah Veterans Home. This part-time position offers a wage range of $17.50 to $20.31 per hour, with placement within the range dependent upon the candidate's experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to perform essential functions effectively. The Cook plays a critical role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious, well-prepared meals tailored to their specific dietary needs. Working under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager, the Cook will prepare and serve food according to prescribed resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and stringent dietary and sanitary regulations. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about cooking and serving others, particularly within a healthcare environment that serves veterans and honors their service. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, compassion, and a strong commitment to food safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include preparing food in compliance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion controls, and temperature procedures. The Cook will also be responsible for assisting in the cleaning and sanitizing of work areas, equipment, dishes, and utensils to uphold health code standards and ensure a safe dining experience for residents. In addition, the Cook will support inventory management by ensuring sufficient food and supplies are available for each meal and assisting with storage and reporting of any hazardous conditions or incidents. Working conditions include operating in a non-temperature regulated environment, such as near ovens, stoves, and walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
