The role available is that of a Cook, who will play a crucial part in preparing wholesome, nutritious, and appealing food for the residents. The Cook reports directly to the Dining Services Director and is responsible for maintaining high food quality standards, controlling costs by using recipes and accurate portion sizes, and ensuring food safety through proper temperature monitoring and food storage protocols. This position involves working in a clean and sanitary kitchen environment in full compliance with state and local regulations. The Cook also supports daily kitchen operations such as washing and sanitizing equipment, cleaning work areas, managing inventory, and reporting any equipment or safety issues to the Food Service Director. Beyond these core duties, the Cook participates in resident-centered programs and supports team efforts to create a pleasant and effective workplace. The job requires professional conduct, adherence to dress code and hygiene standards, and strong interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with residents, associates, and vendors. - High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years cooking experience preferably within the healthcare or hospitality field
- Serv-Safe Certification preferred
- Ability to communicate by speaking, seeing, and hearing sufficient to serve residents
- Be free of communicable disease
- Completion of drug testing and criminal record background check
- Physical ability to bend, stand, lift, stoop, sit, walk, stretch, and lift or carry up to 40 pounds
- Adhere to and carry out all policies and procedures
