The role of Cook within the Dietary team at CHI St. Alexius Health is a vital position responsible for crafting delicious, nutritious, and visually appealing meals that meet the dietary specifications of residents. This is an hourly employment opportunity offering a pay range between $16.29 and $21.79 per hour. Additionally, the position may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $3000, reflecting the organization’s recognition of the importance of skilled cook professionals. Reporting directly to the Dietary Supervisor, the Cook is expected to uphold rigorous food safety and sanitation standards and work efficiently to meet meal preparation schedules. This role requires reviewing diet specifications accurately, preparing foods close to serving times to ensure freshness, and serving the correct portions prescribed for each resident. Beyond meal preparation, the Cook is charged with coordinating kitchen activities by organizing daily tasks, maintaining high food quality by monitoring temperature, taste, and texture, and ensuring proper handling and storage of ingredients and leftovers. The role also demands collaboration and professionalism within the kitchen team environment to handle communications effectively and support colleagues during periods of increased workload.
