The Concierge position at The Sanctuary Hotel, a part of Kiawah Island Golf Resort, plays a vital role in enhancing the guest experience by optimizing perceived value through exceptional service and personalized attention. The Concierge is primarily responsible for assisting guests with arranging activities, excursions, and services tailored to their interests, thereby elevating their overall stay at the resort. This role requires a balance of guest-facing interaction at the Lobby Concierge Desk and administrative duties performed back-of-house, reporting directly to the Concierge Manager. With a pay rate of $20.00 per hour, this position demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Training for this role is comprehensive, beginning with an orientation to the resort and the island, followed by detailed departmental instruction emphasizing Forbes Travel Guide Five Star and AAA Five Diamond service standards. New hires will explore local attractions to build an in-depth knowledge essential for providing guests with accurate and engaging recommendations. The Concierge must be adept at multitasking, capable of handling various guest requests with patience, tact, and resourcefulness. Essential physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry moderately weighted items, endure standing for long periods, and accommodate a flexible work schedule that includes holidays and extended hours from 7 AM to 11 PM. - Minimum high school education
- At least one year of concierge or customer service experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Must pass a background check
