The Medical Receptionist position at Nebraska Medicine's UNL Health Center is a vital role that serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This full-time role primarily operates during the first shift, from Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, with occasional Saturday hours during the academic year. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a critical role in ensuring a positive patient experience by greeting and welcoming patients either in person, at the check-in desk, or via telephone. You will manage the patient check-in and check-out processes in accordance with established protocols and handle scheduling of patient appointments efficiently. The ideal candidate must demonstrate stellar customer service skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working collaboratively with physicians, clinic staff, and patients. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication are essential to perform successfully in this role. Working knowledge of medical office operations and medical terminology is preferred, along with experience or coursework in business, nursing assistant or medical assistant programs.   • High school education or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year post-secondary education with coursework in business, medical assistant program, or nursing assistant program or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level customer service to physicians, patients, and internal/external customers
  • Ability to work professionally with physicians, clinic staff, and patients in a timely, confidential manner
