The American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge provides a home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers who must travel away from home for treatment. Serving as a crucial resource, Hope Lodge offers free lodging and support services to ease the burdens faced during cancer treatment. The Concierge - Driver role at Hope Lodge is a frontline ambassador position, essential in creating a welcoming, comforting environment. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations and transportation services, ensuring guests receive exceptional hospitality and support to meet their unique needs.
The Concierge - Driver schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a pay rate of $18.59 per hour. In this role, the Concierge - Driver is tasked with greeting guests and visitors warmly, assisting with check-in and check-out procedures, providing detailed information about Hope Lodge amenities, services, and local attractions, and responding promptly to guest inquiries and requests. Attention to detail and strong multitasking capabilities are required to maintain an organized front desk and ensure a smooth, welcoming guest experience. Additionally, the Concierge coordinates the safe and timely transportation of guests to and from appointments. This includes driving guests in a courteous manner while adhering to all traffic laws. Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the transportation vehicles is also essential.
The administrative component of the role involves managing incoming communications, maintaining accurate guest records, processing reservations, and supporting various clerical tasks such as filing and data entry. Safety and security responsibilities include monitoring the lobby area, implementing guest identification protocols, controlling access to the premises, and responding effectively to emergencies, all of which support a secure environment for guests and staff.
Candidates for this role should possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in hospitality or guest services highly preferred. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory, especially given the transportation component of the job. Strong communication skills, empathy, organizational ability, proficiency with computer systems such as Microsoft Office and multi-line phone systems, and adaptability are crucial to thrive in this fast-paced environment.
