The Well seeks a passionate Coffee Shop Manager/Barista to play a pivotal role in leading daily operations, creating delightful coffee experiences, and nurturing a welcoming community environment. The Coffee Shop Manager/Barista position at The Well is a multifaceted role combining leadership, administrative management, and hands-on barista duties. As the face of the coffee shop, this role requires someone who embodies exceptional hospitality skills and can build strong connections with customers and congregants alike. Key responsibilities include managing daily shop operations such as inventory control, staff scheduling, financial transactions, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the shop. The manager will also lead strategic planning efforts, including menu pricing, budgeting, volunteer recruitment and development, and addressing customer inquiries to ensure a seamless and uplifting service experience. In addition to operational oversight, the Manager/Barista will actively craft high-quality coffee and beverages, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and adherence to sanitary practices. Leading on-site hospitality efforts during church events such as Wednesday evening Family Night ministry and weekend services, this role contributes significantly to enhancing the church’s community engagement. The manager will train and mentor both staff and volunteers, fostering an environment of belonging and teamwork where hospitality is a shared value. With responsibilities extending to marketing collaboration and event planning, this role offers the opportunity to creatively develop the coffee shop’s presence and maximize its role as a welcoming gathering space. • coffee experience with safe serve certification or ability to complete certification upon hiring
• 3-5 years of leadership level experience
• bachelor’s degree in related field or equal experience in hospitality/service field
• budget experience with ability to understand financial reporting and implement corrective actions
• previous experience training, mentoring and managing staff or volunteers
• previous administrative experience
• personal relationship with Jesus preferred
