The role of Cleaning Services B is pivotal within the Facilities Management Department, tasked with a broad range of cleaning and maintenance services that ensure campus buildings and facilities remain clean, orderly, and conducive to effective use by all campus community members and visitors. Reporting to a Cleaning Services Manager, the incumbent will engage in activities such as dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, polishing floors, vacuuming carpets, shampooing, and maintaining trash and refuse containers. The position also involves servicing essential fixtures like soap and paper dispensers and cleaning chalkboards and other surfaces. A key focus of this position is the upkeep of sanitary and safe conditions, making it critical for promoting not only cleanliness but also the health and safety of everyone on campus.
Beyond manual cleaning tasks, the Cleaning Services B employee will be expected to safely move, set up, and secure furniture and equipment as needed, operate cleaning machines and equipment properly, and report any maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
