The hiring company is a prominent fabricator based in the Greater Houston, TX area, recognized for its excellence in engineering, fabrication, and steel manufacturing sectors. This company is well-established within the civil construction industry and holds a strong commitment to quality, safety, and innovation in large-scale commercial projects. Known for fostering a positive workplace environment, it encourages internal growth and advancement, providing employees with an exceptional work-life balance and an opportunity to be part of a supportive, communicative team that values long-term tenure and professional development. Employees here benefit from being part of a company that serves a diverse portfolio spanning commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, municipal, aviation, sports and entertainment, religious, and multifamily projects. The firm enjoys many repeat clients due to its outstanding service and project delivery excellence. This role is a pivotal part of the organization, offering an industry-leading compensation package with bonus potential, comprehensive benefits, and a chance to contribute meaningfully to high-profile projects in the Houston area. The role available is for a Civil Construction Safety Manager or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager/Director. The successful candidate will be a safety leader with a strong background in managing the safety of new construction projects, large scale endeavors, and fabrication facilities. This role demands a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who will oversee all safety protocols from the outset through project completion, ensuring workplace safety regulations are rigorously followed. Responsibilities include performing injury management—such as minor first aid and incident investigation—coordinating return-to-work processes, and addressing at-risk behaviors by observing and reporting safety concerns and recommending corrective measures. The Safety Manager will also be responsible for supervising site safety coordinators, maintaining safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal agency reporting requirements. In addition, the role involves developing and implementing job site safety orientations for new hires, subcontractors, vendors, and visitors to foster a safety-first culture across all operations. The candidate will be expected to develop systems related to hazardous material management, overseeing proper use, storage, shipping, spill control, cleanup, and disposal to minimize environmental and occupational hazards. Proficiency in computer programs—including the Microsoft Office suite—is required, alongside certifications in AED, CPR, and First Aid to support emergency response initiatives on site. Preferred qualifications include industry-recognized designations such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Safety Trained Supervisor (STS), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), and OSHA 500 or 510 certifications. Experience in engineering, fabrication, and construction environments is highly valued for this position. Candidates will preferably have 5 or more years of experience acting in a safety role such as a manager, director, or safety officer within large-scale construction or industrial projects. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to advance their career within a company that values expertise, safety leadership, and professional growth. Candidates interested in joining an accomplished team and contributing to a thriving, safety-conscious organization in Houston are encouraged to apply promptly.
