The City is seeking a dedicated and responsible Facilities Maintenance Support I to join its facilities management team. This role is essential in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness across multiple public buildings and grounds managed by the city. The City operates numerous facilities serving the community, requiring well-maintained and sanitary environments to ensure the safety and satisfaction of both the public and city employees. As a Facilities Maintenance Support I, you will be an important part of the city’s facilities management operations. You will be responsible for routine cleaning and sanitation duties, including floors, walls, windows, restrooms, work areas, and public access zones. These tasks are critical to preserving the overall appearance and hygiene of public buildings, preventing health hazards, and maintaining a professional atmosphere. Your role will also extend to waste removal and recycling management, contributing to the City’s sustainability efforts. In addition to janitorial tasks, this role involves basic mechanical and maintenance functions such as minor repairs, painting, replacing light bulbs, and supporting the setup of events by moving furniture and equipment. You will also assist with safety and security measures including emergency preparedness, monitoring building systems, and responding to any safety concerns you observe. This position requires routine interaction with the public and other city staff, necessitating courteous communication skills and a helpful attitude. This is a full-time position with a salary range starting from $16.6357 to $18.3475 per hour, reflecting Step 1 to Step 3 of a 7-step pay scale.
