Help New Mexico (HELPNM) was established in 1965 by the interdenominational New Mexico Council of Churches with the mission to support education within their community. Over the decades, HELPNM has developed a strong legacy and continues to make a significant impact in the region. Today, it operates as a fully-owned subsidiary of the Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC), a respected community development corporation dedicated to creating positive change and opportunity for diverse populations in New Mexico.
HELPNM is primarily focused on education and community development initiatives that benefit children and families. Its Office of Learning and Academic Opportunity (OLAO) provides comprehensive services targeting children from birth to eight years of age and their families. The primary goal of OLAO is to facilitate educational progress, health improvement, and social and behavioral development opportunities. This office emphasizes a coordinated, intentional approach to family strengthening by combining programming that serves both children and adults, thereby fostering strong, resilient family units that thrive within the community.
Within this dynamic and supportive environment, HELPNM is seeking a Child Care Supervisor. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in their care, demonstrating a commitment to nurturing a positive and secure learning atmosphere. The position involves supervising and monitoring children's activities to guarantee their safety at all times. The candidate will organize mealtimes and snacks, ensuring balanced nutrition and proper scheduling.
Additionally, the Child Care Supervisor will develop and maintain daily schedules and routines that provide adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime for each child. This balanced approach promotes holistic child development by supporting their physical, cognitive, and emotional growth. The role also requires the use of a variety of engaging materials and resources to stimulate children's learning through both structured educational activities and imaginative free play. By facilitating problem-solving and social interaction among the children, the Supervisor supports their critical thinking skills and social development.
This position requires someone with a passion for early childhood education and a deep understanding of the developmental needs of young children. The ideal candidate will not only meet the minimum qualifications but will also bring an enthusiasm for supporting families in the community and collaborating with a dedicated team to achieve HELPNM's mission.
