The role of Sous Chef II at Sunrise Senior Living’s Whispering Chase community is a pivotal culinary position focused on maintaining superior standards of food quality, presentation, and resident satisfaction. As a critical member of the culinary team, the Sous Chef II supports the Executive Chef III by overseeing daily food production, ensuring compliance with strict quality and safety guidelines, and managing kitchen operations including inventory and staff supervision. This role requires an innovative approach to food presentation and production, ensuring meals are not only delicious but also visually appealing, creative, and consistent with Sunrise's high standards. Beyond food preparation, the Sous Chef II plays an active role in the resident dining experience by engaging with residents during meals, addressing concerns, and ensuring that dining is a positive, social event. Additionally, the Sous Chef II supports kitchen safety and risk management protocols and participates in training and mentoring kitchen staff to foster a culture of culinary excellence and continuous improvement. The position demands strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.                 - Certification and/or college degree in culinary arts preferred
 - minimum three years experience as a chef
 - maintains current food services sanitation certificate
 - ServeSafe certified
 - proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
