We are seeking a skilled Level 3 Computer Field Technician to join our IT team on a contract basis to support the University of Michigan's campus technology needs. This role involves significant travel - approximately 80 percent of the time - to various campus locations for device installation, de-installation, imaging, and setup tasks. The technician will be responsible for efficiently deploying computer systems, performing data migration, and updating ticketing systems to track progress and resolve issues promptly. This is a temporary position with an initial duration of six months, with the potential to extend up to three years and the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role based on performance. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, supporting the operational hours and ensuring prompt IT service across the university. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of professional work experience in computer installation and maintenance, with preferred credentials including a Comptia A+ certification or an associate degree in a computer-related field. This ensures a strong foundation in troubleshooting, hardware installation, and software configuration necessary to excel in this dynamic role. The technician must be detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and able to perform repetitive tasks requiring good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They will also need to comply with physical requirements for the role including the ability to assemble units or small parts and undergo various screenings including background checks and immunization verification.   • Five or more years of business professional work experience in computer installation field
  • Associates degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Criminal background check and 10 panel drug screening required
  • Up-to-date immunization proof for COVID-19, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, pertussis, tetanus, diphtheria, influenza, and hepatitis B
  • Negative TB skin or blood test within the past year
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks and manual assembly
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
