The Food Service Worker - Trayline position at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals is a critical role within the food service operations, dedicated to assembling patient trays, individual portions, and food displays in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Employees in this role handle the preparation and assembly of food that aligns with strict food safety and sanitation standards. They are responsible for stocking and rotating food supplies, ensuring tray accuracy and timely service, and maintaining clean, sanitized work and service areas. Trayline workers will often rotate through various assigned positions as needed and will be cross-trained for flexibility in assignment scheduling. This role demands adherence to safety protocols, including patient, operational, and sanitation safety standards. Work shifts vary and may start as early as 6:00 am or end as late as 8:00 pm, typically scheduled for either 4-hour or 8-hour shifts, with weekends and some holidays required. Reliability, punctual attendance, and positive interaction with co-workers and hospital staff consistent with the hospital's core values are crucial aspects of this role. Trayline workers also carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers, contributing to the smooth and efficient operations of the hospital food service department.
