The opportunity available is for a full-time Chef position at RJR Smokehouse located at 950 Reynolds Boulevard, Winston Salem, North Carolina 27105. This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule with two shift options: midnight to 7:00 am or 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, providing flexibility and structured working hours. The pay range for this role is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, reflecting the value placed on culinary skill and experience.
As a Chef at Canteen, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating kitchen operations, managing food production and food service associates effectively. Your role involves supervising and participating in cooking activities, ensuring all food handling, sanitation, and customer service standards are correctly met. You will oversee the hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of hourly kitchen staff, enhancing team productivity and maintaining high-quality food standards. Preparing food items efficiently in line with standardized recipes, monitoring portion control, food presentation, and temperature are key aspects of this role.
Additionally, this role requires managing inventory by tracking food usage, waste, and conducting inspections of received products to maintain optimal stock levels. Maintaining sanitation of equipment and workstations is essential to comply with health and safety regulations.
